How to make transparent background picture ?

hello dear reader ,today i will teach u how to use GIMP to make transparent background picture
download GIMP here CLICK ME
ps:click to view the picture in large , click the read more button to read more
first , open ur GIMP

open a picture

click the button at bottom left

ur picture will become like this

select erase tool

erase the unwanted park

like the example

click the button again

Click layer > transparency>add alpha channel

after that click edit > clear

ur picture will become like this

go image>mode>indexed

a pop out will come out 

save ur picture as  .gif
